Pre-match handshakes before Bolton's win at Molineux

Cesar Peixoto was left frustrated with Wolves’ toothless performance against Bolton Wanderers after his side faced back-to-back defeats for the first time in his tenure.

The situation has become worse for Peixoto in the space of a few days. After a weak display against Middlesbrough, Wolves needed to show a strong response at Molineux. Instead, Bolton recorded their first league win against Wolves since March 2012.

Head coach Cesar Peixoto took full responsibility for a demoralising 3-1 defeat at Molineux against newly-promoted Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday evening. Atsuki Ito gave the visitors a first half advantage but Jean-Ricner Bellegarde finished clinically to equalise early in the second half, with his first goal of the season. Sam Dalby restored Bolton’s lead with a close range finish before a long-range wonder strike from Josh Sheehan sealed the points for Steven Schumacher’s men.

“We are all frustrated because of the result,” Peixoto said. “I think we deserved more, we were the better team in the first ten minutes. We conceded two chances and, after they scored, I think we dominated all the game. We created a lot of chances, a lot of crosses, a lot of situations to score in the first half and created more in the second half.
