Goalscorer Abbi Jenner was delighted to contribute to Wolves’ dramatic victory against Ipswich Town in the Subway Challenge Players Cup on Sunday afternoon.

It was a lively game at the SEAH Stadium as Dan McNamara’s side fought from behind to complete a fantastic comeback to draw the match 2-2. Abbi Jenner’s beauty of a strike got Wolves level in the 78th minute and enabled the game to be decided by penalties, which the hosts won 7-6.

“I think in the first half we were pretty disappointed with our performance and in the second half we showed a reaction,” Jenner reflected. “We have things now that in the next week we can work on and it was a good performance in the end, specifically the second half.

“I think we just had to tweak a few things. Macca spoke to us and I think we needed more grit and determination, and we definitely showed that in the second half and proved it by getting the two goals.”
