MIDDLESBROUGH MATCH PREVIEW: Teesside trip provides stern test as Wolves get back on the road after the international break

Cesar Peixoto will want to recapture the performance of the Black Country derby win but fresh injury concerns have complicated his plans for Saturday.

Proper football is back and, to paraphrase the late and great Kevin Keegan, Wolves have got to go to Middlesbrough and get something. With the last vestige of the meaningless internationals firmly in the rearview mirror, this weekend brings the return of the domestic football we know and love.

Cesar Peixoto, of course, does not have to get something from a trip to Teesside, but it would be nice if he did. The win over West Bromwich Albion is no longer fresh in the memory but the essence of that victory must be recaptured if Wolves are to take another three points at the Riverside Stadium.

Wolves last visit to Teesside was a memorable one, with the photograph of Romain Saiss laid out on the turf at full time proving one of the images of the season, as Nuno’s nine men hung on for a glorious 2-1 victory back in March, 2018.
