Peixoto's frustration with under-performing Wolves at Middlesbrough

A lacklustre performance cost Wolves against their promotion rivals, as supporters left the north-east with nothing more than a reality check to take home

Cesar Peixoto was left frustrated with Wolves’ display against Middlesbrough after their 1-0 defeat against the promotion rivals, but has taken the positives from the performance. Will Lankshear, who was heavily linked with a move to Wolves in the recent transfer window, scored the deciding goal on the 57th minute in what was, overall, an underachieving performance.

“We knew it was going to be a difficult game,” Peixoto said. “Middlesbrough have a good team and they play well. In the first half, Middlesbrough had more of the ball, they were well organised defensively and it was sometimes difficult to find the right triggers to press. But despite having more of the ball, they didn’t create many clear chances to score.
