Fer Lopez wrote himself into the history of the Black Country derby, pouncing with a well-taken goal after Nat Phillips’s wayward pass let him in for the game-winning moment.
"It's a great feeling, we knew the importance of the game” he said. "We knew that if we gave everything, and thanks to the support from the fans, that we were the better team. We went deeper at the end and they had some chances, but I don't remember Sa making any great save.
"We totally deserved the three points and showed that we were the better team. We wanted a second goal, but for me I'm more nervous when I'm off the pitch than on it. When the gaffer took me off I was very nervous for the last 25 minutes because I get more nervous when I'm not there. I'm very happy to get a result.”
