Ahead of completing his medical today, Wolves look set to have secured one of the Championship’s most sought-after midfielders. Jordan James is on the verge of returning to England after an outstanding campaign with Leicester City last season.

The deal is structured for the 22-year-old to join the club on loan from Rennes with an option to buy, with the total fee amounting to £10million. A handful of clubs were interested in the player’s signature with West Ham United, Middlesbrough and a return to Birmingham City also on the cards. But Wolves have won the race for the Welsh international despite the pressure from other parties.
