"I will wait for my moment": Yerson Mosquera ready to fight to get back as first choice at the heart of Wolves' defence

Yerson Mosquera is determined to regain his spot in Cesar Peixoto’s starting XI, but admitted he will have to be patient as he believes there is fierce competition for spaces.

The Colombian defender got his first start since Wolves’ opening fixture against Blackburn Rovers in August, due to being sidelined with an ankle injury, and played a crucial role in the host's 1-0 victory over Watford on Saturday.

“I think it was a great win,” Mosquera said. “We played well, we did very good things. We knew the game was not going to be easy. We have to improve a little bit more. We have to push a little bit more, but when it was time to defend, we defended well, we defended with spirit.”

The centre-back was pleased to see his team-mate Adam Armstrong get back on the scoresheet, after a tough spell of 11 fixtures without finding the back of the net. Now he is hoping that the goal can help Armstrong thrive in Old Gold.
