Relief as home woes end with overdue Armstrong strike lifting Wolves up to fourth

Cesar Peixoto was pleased with Wolves’ performance after his side narrowly squeezed past a woeful Watford side at Molineux.

It was not the most convincing victory, but a win is a win. Adam Armstrong’s strike in the 35th minute gave Wolves a deserved lead and ultimately proved to be enough for Cesar Peixoto’s side to get back to winning ways in WV1.

“I think it was a good win for us,” Peixoto said. “In the first half we scored one goal and we could have scored two or three more. We created a lot of chances, we attacked the spaces with mobility and put a lot of players in the box. The second half was not so good but we controlled the game and created the better chances in the second half.

“It's normal, we played during the week and they had all week to prepare. I thought the team was a little tired. We had 24 shots, 14 corner kicks, we were the better team. If we scored two or three more in the first half the situation is different, but I think it was a good reaction. It was a good game but I think we can do better.”
