It was smiles all around at Telford on Sunday, unless you happened to be wearing Sheffield United colours. Wolves Women’s home debut in the Women’s Super League 2 couldn’t have gone much better. Okay, maybe in a perfect world Dan McNamara’s side kept a clean sheet. But on a historic, proud and hugely encouraging afternoon for the club, there was plenty to like.
Sunday was more than just three points. It was about seeing Wolves take their place on their biggest stage yet, in front of a joyous home crowd, with families arriving together and young supporters ready to discover their new heroes.
