The long road from a “hobby” to professional football for Wolves Women’s Number Nine

Football was always a welcome escape for Charlotte Greengrass. Playing for the love of the game alongside her work in market research and family life, often making for a hectic week. But the sport had never been a career option, until now.
“I’m 26 now and only just signing my first professional contract,” she reveals to The Wanderers Post. “But I think there’s a lot of people that have very different looking careers and I’m happy that I’ve had that other aspect of my life, that’s helped me balance football.
“I never have to think, ‘can I pay my bills at the end of the month?’. Because that has sometimes been a factor in women’s football, as people know. Macca [Dan McNamara] is so keen on making sure that you, as an individual, are happy with everything that’s going on and that helped me make my decision. That balance of looking after me as a person and a player is ultimately what I needed to be able to take this next step.
