Wolves academy midfielder Luke Rawlings was 17 when he signed his first professional contract in April 2025. It was the first step into a new world and with that comes hope and expectation, but also a sense of realism about what the future might offer. It is still a long way from the end goal, after all.
So, when Rawlings signed a one-year extension this April, that represented a further step forward. The Wanderers Post sat down with Academy Director Jon Hunter-Barrett earlier this month to discuss the processes involved to get to this point.
Fans are always keen to see progress from academy stars and sometimes performances in the Under 21s can spark debate about who may or may not be able to step up. In recent times, Rawlings has gained attention for the right reasons.
