This fixture can make legacies, it can also break them. It takes no prisoners and Wolves will need to be more than ready for the task at hand come midday on Sunday. But Cesar Peixoto has revealed that veteran full-back Kieran Trippier is nursing a fresh injury ahead of the fixture, when asked if the player would start the game.
“We’re going to see,” the head coach said. “Today he felt something in the training session, but we try to manage to put more minutes, step by step, to bring him to stay with us and we think he is an option for the game.”
Trippier played a key role in the win over Sheffield United and his inclusion is vital if Wolves are to be at their best defensively. Peixoto was full of confidence that his team will show the fight to win the first Black Country derby of his Wolves tenure.
