Krejci to remain at Wolves: Peixoto confirms his defender will stay on, after 4-2 defeat at West Ham

Defensive frailties were exposed as Wolves surrendered their unbeaten start to the season against Nuno Espirito Santo's West Ham United. So, it was timely to hear from Cesar Peixoto that World Cup defender Ladislav Krejci is staying on at Wolves this season.

Wolves slipped to a first defeat of the season, going down 4-2 at West Ham United, but a huge positive for supporters is that the head coach has confirmed centre-back Ladislav Krejci will stay at the club, amid recent interest from Ipswich Town and elsewhere.

“Krejci stays with us,” Cesar Peixoto announced. “He’s an important player and we try to get him 100 per cent to start to play. He has to work hard to be part of the starting XI and to play in the matches.”

It was a night where Krejci’s value to the team went up without him kicking a ball. The defence looked ill at ease all night and the four goals conceded against the title favourites showed there is plenty of work ahead in this long Championship season.   Peixoto named an unchanged XI from the team that fought back from behind against Stoke City on Saturday.
